CONNECTED MAGAZINE - COLOUR v SIZE

Hello All

Connected 65 should be dropping through doormats soon - just got mine. You the readers have an important decision to make. Do you want to stay with the A4 size format and have less colour pages than previous issues - issue 65 shows you exactly what this looks like. Or do you want to go to smaller A5 size (half the size of the current A4) and have more colour?

Unfortunately due to cost issues we cannot continue to have both A4 and full colour, so now you can see what A4 with less colour looks like I would like to know your views please.

I will set up a poll but I want a thread going as well. A numeric vote is good but if people want to write their views more fully about why they voted the way they have that will also help make the decision.

So what are your views please...................................

Simon, editor Connected

Hope you enjoy 65 by the way  and please go in for the film competition - PM answers or email me via editor email. Good luck :read2:

What sort of money per member is needed to keep the A4 in colour, I'm sure most of us wouldnt mind a fiver or so on the membership

In the minority as ever, but I don't think the colour printing is worth the extra cost - as the colour version (either the original colour copy of Connected or high-res copies of all the pics) could be put on the web site for those who want it.

I found some really old copies of Connected the other day and they were the 'fanzine' style - just photocopied and stapled together - but none the worse for it.

I know how much time and effort goes in to producing Connected and it is excellent, but the colour doesn't add that much apart from cost...

I'm down with either. But colour is nicer on the eye.

I read all the mags I had up to date in one session, think they are excellent.

I also am with vader on that one and wouldn't mind contributing a little more if needs be.

For me Smaller and in colour.

Carringtons Travels has some cracking photos in it, would be even better in colour.

Would also pay a little extra per year to help out postage rise issues.

If it is smaller with more colour does that make the pics smaller or less of them? :read2:

Simon, can you clarify … would the a5 format mean less content as well or would there be more pages to get the same amount of content in??

issue 65 fantastic as usual :thumbright:
