Well is it overated? what i do not like about it is i think it is!

Why? well you can have the worlds best at an event but He/She may be injured on the day of the Event.they may be off form! or they may crash or get taken out by another Athlete.

Its only one day evey 4 years out of an athletes career. If you just happen to get the Gold on the Day then its also a golden ticket to a liftetime career with the BBC and advertising, even if you are but ugly!! :D

Lets keep it simple also, far too amny Events! and they plan to add more  they moan about the cost!!! so why not have the basic stuff only they had years ago.If it was up to me they would compete naked like they did in Athens. Then no neeed to worry about weather its Nike,Kappa,Adidass,Sergio Tacchini,Hi Tec,Asics that sponser the UK team Kit.Get the kit off i say ;) that would improve viewing figures, and you can also tell if they are male or femail?

Not taking anything away from the athletes i have respect how many get little if no money for the sport they compete in,and lets face it many are far fitter than Premiership Soccer Players.

Miserable from me i know  but i can not get excited by it.

Maybe so Tony!

I'm not that bothered with it tbh, but will no doubt watch quite a bit as i'd expect there to be nothing else on TV.

On the plus side, it has, since we won it, had millions and millions chucked at it that will have no doubt kept 100's thousands of people in work during this reccession, that would of otherwise been out of work.

Then there will be the money made back by tickets and tourism.

Not sure of the ins and outs but cant see how we can't be better of as an economy for having it than not?
