Fairly common to strip the threads Will, especial if there's a crack at the top of the socket of the uca. You could clamp it tight and weld it, the new joint should hopefully self tap it's way into the steel, in all honesty I'd get a spare from Dunc and be done with it

Failing that you could go with tubular upper arms and correct the inherent geometry issues on a Mopar. However, beware of design and build quality......they are not all created equal..............

Make a plate to go over the top of the ball joint with a hole in it to allow access to the grease nipple and the weld the plate to the upper arm witht he ball joint sandwiched inbetween so you dont weld directly to the ball joint and then there is less chance of damaging the ball joint when you come to remove it.

Mine are just welded on to the a-arm with a few tacks, just to hold it in place. Common issue with mopars, agree about tubular a-arms, who remember the pics of the ones that failed on that guy !!

I think I would want more than a few tacks of weld if the threads are stripped. There is a fair chunk of the vehicle weight pushing up on it.

mine screwed in fine, the welds are just to hol it. they are a bit more than tack I guess, more like tack plus
