Saw this at the Carfest auction on Saturday, the auction was over when i saw it and the car was just leaving so i don`nt know if it sold ,.....was this the one that was for sale fairly recently (in Scotland,.. i think)

a kindly soul in Aus who although silent on the messageboards found something i wrote usful and hence recently sent me a pickup for nout so apart from one point lost from the favour pot all can be sorted..

the car was sold by the scottish fella who now in his 80s felt it was time to get rid

it was purchased for a very very di i say very fair price by a chap from london... gave us all the chat about loving them, his dad having one and this one was a keeper which he would take to NZ when he retired, so we bent over backwards to assist him in his quest for Automobile nirvana got the right connections made to get it running right etc

he appears to have kept it for 3 months and sold it at auction
or was fishin to see if his investmnet was worth what he thought
either way leaves a bit of a sour taste....its a marmite car you like em or you don't....no which way about it....people don't tend to buy one as a prospect...

be interested to know how much it went for if it sold because the guide price 20-25K was in my mind a tad optimistic if it went for that we have just witnessed a re benchmark...and i suppose i owe him a begrudgeing well done that man.

Is that car as good as it looks? I really like that. Looks good in white / black too. Lot of money though. Never thought Aussie Chargers would climb near that.


Still if its what you want and thats the right one, its worth the dosh.

I belive its probably bodily and mechanically the best we have here at the mo.

Well I have to say if it really is that good, and its a car you really want, £20k isn't unreasonable???? I think I would pay it. Its like you said earlier Dave, you either really weant one or you dont and if you do, well,

as long as you know and understand what you are buying.......
which is basiclaly an A body in a style unrecognisable by most, with restricted parts supply and to some wrong side steering
on the plus side probably one of the best handling mopars of the torsion bar era and a cracking small light and revvy engine...your only choice without massive expenditure if the other types of roundy roundy racing are more your bag

if this was a money making exercise i think the profits will be smaller than expected

if it was just a fishing trip to see what the market would dictate

it served its purpose

No, I appreciate that, I am just pointing out that I think the lower estimate value of £20k is reasonable if you REALLY REALLY want one of those and dont want a rot box that needs a load of work. I think it looks lovely.

Only thing I have been slightly wary of on those cars is the wheels. those 'wolfrace' (or whatever they are that look like wolfrace) wheels can look like an 80's 'upgrade' by some cheesy bell end from Thornton Heath.

i think that the love it or hate it quote refers to the `sportsman` interior, i have had mine for nearly 2 decades but i could not live with that interior.
£20-£25k seamed a bit optimistic,... maybe in aus.
The guy standing by the car was the one that drove it away,..anyone recongnise him?

I think that is the owner that bought it from the chap in Scotland, and I believe he may be a member of this fine club.

That is the owner in the pic, the car is as good as it looks and as Dave said probably the best in the UK.
Perhaps he was just testing the water, I would sell if the price was right,
