nah.....hp is one thing, converting that into a top running car with a good 60ft and ET for heads up is another thing, I beat a mid 8 sec car many moons ago at Garys Picnic with a 10 sec run, it only takes a few misfires (that was a chevy), and a crap RT and 60 and your a winner

blue will remember that.

Probably as you say Pete, I don't know.....you can say that for sure when he runs well in the 9's in a leaf sprung car as per your SS rules.
I was trying to give some heart to those people who will find themselves in a heads up race with a car with much more performance/hp, and gave one example of what is sometimes possible (even against a tube car), if your car is set up well and your sharp on the tree.

I get it Pete, its just a bit of fun getting pre-74 door cars together at a Meet, and calling it SS so your running against similar American muscle for a time slip, instead of a beetle or similar...your just creating an all American RWYB.
So why not include back halved cars, 4-link/l-bars, why restrict it for the sake of SS Tradition when those rules really don't mean anything here, including qualifying, thats just a format to find a winner, your just excluding some pretty good machinery, (Pete/Cliff and many others), and seeing its just for fun, who cares who you come up against, its still only for a time slip really, the fastest car wins and gets a free Beer or a trophy or something?.
I guess at a £100 per weekend for 4 peeps, its reasonable and good fun getting pi55ed with a bit of strip action thrown in.
