A mate of mine has just bought a 68 Barracuda, he wants to replace the weatherstripping, he's asking what sort of glue to use & how best to remove the old glue, I didn't know it was glued on or has someone effected a "temporary" repair?
Any advice would be great, I've told him to sign up anyway.

Only glue it if you feel it needs it. Judgement call.

Sometimes just the odd spot in strategic places. It depends on the quality and fit of the reproduction weatherstrip. Some are a good tight fit. Others not.

I would use a spot of silicone as the glue.

Depends on which weatherstrip as to whether and how much glue you need. Eg trunk lid - need it all the way along. roof weatherstrip - depends on model and position.
I would use 'weatherstrip adhesive' :D :D Yes they do call it that, but it is just a contact adhesive, you could use Evo-stik. I used the 3M stuff in a tube, you can get it in black so does not show if you get a bit liberal. Factory used the traditional yellow, aka 'gorilla snot'..........

Agree. I've done my Belve recently and didn't need any glue.

I got my weatherstripping from The Paddock but they went under :(
