Hi All,
My name is Howard Worton and I've a confession.....I've been obsessed with musclecars since I was about 10 years old. I'm now 41 and have finally realised my childhood dream - on Saturday I picked up a 1974 Plymouth Roadrunner from a bloke in Christchurch - its the base model 318 and needs quite a lot of attention. I drove it back, which was fantastic and terryfying all at once - car has been neglected, it drives OK(I think, I've nothing to compare it to in Mopar terms)No matter, I'm smitten. Plans for the car will be quite simple; I want to drive it, so any restoration will not be too precious. Interior is scruffy - quite a few new bits required. Body seems good but it's had a fairly poor respray, original colour is a avocado green.... Engine didn't miss a beat on the way back - 170 miles - odo reads 42k miles, have quite a few receipts to back that up... Anyway, I'm taking her down to Classic Car Craft in Broadstairs for an initial assessment and then we'll begin to think about what I'd like to see happen. It's all too exciting, I'm a total greenhorn, hope to learn as I go.
I live near Folkestone in Kent with my wife, 84 year old Dad and 3 cats. I used to have a normal(?) job but now look after Dad full time and mess about with bicycles on eBay. In order to realise my Mopar dream I've had to I've up motorcycles - I've had 30+ over the past 17 years, I'll miss them but not so much anymore...
Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself; we hope to attend lots of events this year, see y'all around.
