How do you cope ?
Space is the question; I'm happy to keep my beloved RR on the drive - damn those 4 inches that are the difference between tha garage and the RR - but I've been thinking about a second ride at some point fairly soonish...the trouble is I've no more space. I've explored options of vehicle storage in Kent and surrounding areas to no avail so far. Decent sized garages for rent seem as rare as you-know-what. I'm guessing this must be a similar issue for many others out there...isn't it ? If anyone out there has any solutions, I'd be grateful.

Forward planning.
I made sure that the house I bought at least had the space for a big enough garage even though the existing garage was not big enough.
OK so it was 15 years before I could afford to borrow the money to knock down the existing garage and build a new one. But I got there eventually.
Not only that. But by careful planning wor lass got a kitchen extension at the same time. This is how you have to play these things to keep things sweet.
The other thing was to make sure that what I built was big enough for any Mopar. Including a Superbird. Just in case.
Well you never know do you?

same for me that was a big thing in buying my house 13 years ago, already had a double length garage that was also a couple of foot wider than the normalDave wrote:Forward planning.

My lock up is a farm barn, 25 miles from home
Downside is time taken to get there
Upside is that its cheap at £50 a month, dry, and has power
The other thing is that it makes me disciplined to stay all day up there and get stuff done
You'd be surprised how many farm barns are out there
Good luck with then hunt

Easy.... build a full width Ali box on the Garage door to allow the RR to go inside, i know someone that did this and it worked ....just wish id taken a picture
Leaving the outer frame, he cut out the door skin, fitted the large box (with lip) through from the inside, pop riveted it all round the lip, and painted it ...job done his big car went inside
I take it its your garage
And 4 INCHES ....EASY
A garage door is cheaper than a nice RR

Yeah, I did the same thing when we moved house over 15 years ago - my 'line in the sand' was at a minimum, space to build a double length garage. As it turned out I got lucky and got a decent length double width for which I am still grateful and really appreciate having. But even then it means I am pretty much limited to the one car (yes still not on road) as the other garage is my workshop (which again I would love to be bigger). If I'd have had the space I probably would have bought a cheap runabout Mopar to use for all the years the Challenger has taken.... Of course then money becomes the next problem.
Anyway the bottom line is probably that whatever facility (or car) you have, you could always ideally do with more!!! But I would say that a minimum should be somewhere to store your car safely - I like Steve's suggestion of a box on the front of the garage.

I guess I'm lucky, my grandad owned a huge
Double garage. Can easily fit the dodge in And then walk/work around it. If
It was 3ft higher I could a 2 post ramp
In there. I have though about having the roof raised for
This reason but only ever got that far.
There is also space for 3 more cars there.
My house in reading has a 4 car drive
And my mums a 2 car drive.

Agree with what some have said.
If the garage is not big enough or you dont have one, then doing what Justin has done makes sense!
For the sake of 4 inches though i don't see the point in making that kind of commitment. I would add the power bulge to the garage door!
Current garage is 6.2 x 2.5.........I'm hoping to move house this year.........I only have 1 item on my list of demands........
