Car valuation

Post by Demon James »

Wasn't sure where to post this as it's not strictly a"for sale" yet but it may be nescessary for me to sell my car if work doesn't pick up real soon. I'm posting on here for advice really on how to get a viable valuation as I have no experience in this area. Yes it's a gut wrenching decision
 and not taken lightly so I don't want to give it away cos I worked too bananrama hard to get it in the first place

Some of you may remember it was imported a couple of years ago by Skippy (Dean Inskip).

It was a slant six that had a 340 SB fitted before it came over, 727 Transmission.

I fitted new rear springs and an RPM AirGap inlet manifold, still have the stuff I removed in storage. It also now has a hurst floor shifter and a rear spoiler (cheers AllKiller :thumbright: )

Frustraitingly its been the most reliable car I've owned (along with the Chevy it replaced)

Any ideas or feedback please guys and thanks for reading :) James.

Between £12 and £15k.

Has all the right parts, color and wheels IMO.

Shame if it comes to it buddy, as at the above ballpark figures i'm guessing another one destined for Europe (never to be seen again)!

This or B5 would be the ultimate A body for me!

Do your best to keep James (i know its easier said than done)! Don't think you could import it for the above prices these days!

Cheers Dave, annoyingly it will cost me nothing to keep and cost a shed load to replace in the future if such an opppertunity arose  espescially if it may take some time to sell.

11 to 15k Remeber Demons are rare.

If possible keep her mate,i made the mistake of selling my last car and spent the Cash  I could have kept Her looking back with the Benefit of highnsigt.

If you can get what you paid for it then Sell if it helps you,but do not sell for less.I warn you the money soon goes once you sell

Im with Tony, try and hang on to it, you will never replace it unless you have a windfall. I sold my last Yank a 71 charger well swapped it for a speedboat actually about 20 years ago, in those days they where easy to get hold of. I thought that will be ok I will easy get another one, but the prices soon rocketed out of my reach and i resigned myself to never being able to have another one. Its taken me 20 years to be able to get another one and that was only because a member of family died. So think carefully, keep it it's an investment

If it was a Duster then i would Agree, but where are buyers going to find another Demon in the UK? they would be happy to snap this up in Sweden and Germany i bet.

I'm sort of in the same boat James.
I only managed to do the Coronet due to an small inheritance.
Work has gone down hill badly in the last three years ( not gonna start a rant on why !!!)
So I've had to make a choice between my truck and the car.
Horrible decision but gonna stick with the car and hope it turns out to be as good as the truck has been for the last 6 years.
Just can't afford storage or the upkeep of another vehicle.
Prob gonna let one of my 2 bikes go also.
I agree with the others though. Have a rummage about and see what else you could flog and try and hang on to the car.
You never know what's round the corner mate !!!

Over 10k no problem this a lovely straight Car.

What i would do is look at the USA Dodge Demons similar and change the Dollars for pounds once shipped taxes etc...just a quick look this was a 318(so not a 340) now has a 440 its already over $15K so that would be £15k here landed all paid and the bidding is not over yet.I would say look at examples in the USA and when a buyer is trying to steal the car form you, point out what it would cost them to import one like it.

Worth watching to see what this goes for this was a 6 to start with.

Absolutely cstunning motor that, love a Demon and thats the best colur by far as for value its difficult, as we all know an immaculate 69 bee full numbers matching went for 15k recently, A bodies are less popular and however nice this is its not matching numbers :(
Theres been a blue demon on and off of ebay fairly recently and thar was at around 13k and hasn't sold (to my knowledge) in several months of trying.

If its possible to keep it I would

Tony look at the car George and Sam Chiles have, stunning b5 won best in show at us mopar nats and here, won prizes all over, now has an ally headed 408 in and that was around 10k and the guy had it for sale for ages going round and round on eBay, the same spec b-body would easily be 20k plus but a bodies just don't command the prices over here

None of this really surprises me if I'm honest as I never viewed this car as a real investment. It appeals to me in that (IMHO) it has many of the atributes of a V8 powered american car without the size and its happily in the double figueres on fuel consumption ;) Although ownership of anything like this means fuel consumption can't realy be factor eh?

I bought the car as there was an oppportunity and my only view was to maintain and enjoy it in every way :thumbright: Sadly work appears to have taken a sudden nose dive for us, first time in 11 years!! Wendy and I are determind to get through this (although it appears that under current EU Rules there are only 24 hours in a day  so the oppertunity to put more hours in is somewhat restricted  )

Right.......moan over, back to work :argue: :violent1: :banghead: :coffee:

Good luck with whatever you do James and bread on the table comes before cars eh! Hope things pick up and you can keep her... Lovely car and my favourite mopar colour, especially on Challengers and Cudas. I would imagine someone will pay you good money for her. Why dont you bang her on ebay starting around 9k or so, see what happens then pull her if price doesnt get to what you want? Bit of exposure etc....

Good luck though mate...dont you just love the way this country has gone!
