I drive past Longcross test track everyday, going to & from work, only about 5 mins from my house.

On average i see 3-4 McLarens a week, blatting to & from the test track. There normally covered in blue tape to protect the body work, but there throttle seems to work fine :D :D

One of my work colleagues left last year to work at McLaren instead. Have not spoken to him since but one of the other guys who lives near him said there was a McLaren on his driveway the other day

Yes, normally the case with steel cars but I think I heard recently that's not necessarily so with carbon fibre type cars, cos the strength is already there without having to add weight :-k

Impressive :thumbright: Not bad for an engine that is essentially a close copy of a Nissan unit
Two prototypes of these cars were brought in to Bridges scrapyard at Pease Pottage a few weeks back for total destruction of all components. Well, nearly all ;)

That bit of luck happened to my cousin Keith...who ran the Corvette club
snooping around a scrap yard up near Hethel Norfolk...came across 2 ZR1 prototypes that had not been completely scrapped
one still with the Engine and Lotus prototype heads fitted
so he bought them and went about rebuilding THE prototype ZR1 Corvette, using another 85 body. as the 85 prototype was beyond repair.

Its legendary as GM wanted nothing to do with it...but its been all over the world appearing at shows etc.
I have a pair of bare proto Lotus Corvette 32 valve ali heads somewhere in the garage Keith let me have. 8-) :thumbright:

Thats one for Dave to check out :read2:

Sorry Steve but I have no interest in the C3 and C4 Corvettes. They were crap. :thumbright:

Steve, 12c Spiders are 40kg heavier than a coupe
Stock 1/4 mile times are 10.6@ 136 for the coupe and 10.8@134 for the spider.
