Just been over to Ashford for lunch with my sister and one of her(grown up) kids, took them to the Riverview Diner, next to the Bybrook Barn garden centre. It's a genuine American classic - was imported from Pennsylvania and used as an Als Diner in Covent Garden before being bought and moved to Ashford. The food is the usual fare(they also have a booze license), can be hit n miss but was very good today... It got me wondering wether it'd be worth having a meet there for local MMA cars and their owners ? There's lots of parking, it's quite central in Kent and it'd look superb with a load of our cars parked outside. I know they take bookings, might be worth organising something depending on interest ? I'll see if I can post some pics to entice...

We used to live in Ashford and frequented the diner. The food is really not much to get excited about but the fact that it's a real, well preserved diner with a fascinating history makes it a great place IMO. I'd forgotten how much I ilke the place until today... It'd be pretty much my dream to run a real Diner somewhere, they are such a fantastic and timeless slice of Americana.
