Well I've done the show 'n' shine thing with the Chargers and that was great but everyone else seemed to be having more fun than I was.

While I was sitting in my camping seat for hours on end next to my car and having sleepless nights about whether or not I'd got the correct date coded exhaust clamps or not - the rest of the lads were simply having more fun than I was! I like fun! Well that was decision made! Sell Charger - get into drag racing!

Bought the Belvedere more or less as a stocker. Blue did his thing on it and the rest you know. Unfortunately I had to sell it in order to put the funds into my business.

So I've done the show 'n' thing and loved every single moment I had with the Belvedere racing it, but that's gone too. But I miss it very much. Why? Because believe it or not, more than anything else, it was the patina it had. I loved it's individuality, it's uniqueness. There's something about original (not faked) patina that appeals to me more than anything else!

Just realised I'm rambling here and not getting to the real point of my thread.

Ok, given all of the above I now want something completely different. I'd like a sun-bleached Chrysler 300 Hurst please. But seeing as they only made a few hundred anyway I just don't think that's going to happen and even if one did come up it's going to be in the States and therefore beyond my budget.

And then a couple of days ago I accidentally came across a car on Ebay that absolutely ticked every single single box for me.

It's not a Mopar and if you don't like the sun-bleached look you're gonna like it even less.

One US owner. Fresh import with only 54k on the clock. What's not to like?

And because I'm using a Mac with a mouse that only half works I can't put up a linky.

Can you guess what it is yet? Item no. 230980861078

That's crazy !
Was dribbling over that earlier

Hand on heart if I could have had 1 car I've seen in my life it would be the Belvedere Jem.
Prob for all the reasons you mentioned above.
Had I known it was going to sell for as little as it did I would have sold both bikes and both mopars to own it.
Hindsight eh.

As for this one.
Go for it mate. And if you get fed up with it. First dibs please. !!

No patina though Andy. It's just another Imperial. Nothing special/individual/different/unique/interesting etc. etc etc. about it in my eyes fella.

I guess the point I'm trying to get across is that if I should buy it, it'll be absolutely unique - a one of one if you like. Due it's patina it'll be the only one in the World!

Hey Andy, one more thing: May seem a bit $$$ but I haven't negotiated a deal yet. Also, getting into specifics, the '68 is the only year I'd consider even contemplating.

Check out the years either side. '67 front end is just 'kin ugly, '69 has got way too much bulge in the hood and the '70 is just plain wrong. And then I guess you have to figure in how many are for sale here in the UK?

Nice idea Jem, love the patina on my car and liked your equally. Maybe go for a broader outlook. There's a lot of sun bleached Cali cars out there and something's should turn up.

I'll keep me mincers open over here Jem...... Shipping aint that bad if the right car comes along..... Still think the 64 Belve for $4500 is a good deal.

How about a 4 door? Or is that a soppy question? or a wagon?
