Corbridge Classic Car Show 2013

Sunday 7th July 11am - 4pm.
£3 entrance fee for classic owners. FREE if booked in advance.
Proceeds from the day will be donated to local charities. Should you wish to encourage your family
and friends to come along, admission is only £5, with accompanied children free.

The site will be open to exhibitors’ from 8am and we would be grateful if you could be in place by
10am as the show opens to the public at 11. To ensure safety of the public and exhibitors, we ask
that you do not move your vehicle while the show is on. If you must move it, please contact a
marshal for assistance.
Judging for the various class awards will take place from 12 noon and all vehicles on the field will be
considered. The show will close with the presentation of the awards at 4pm.
As well as a fine display of vehicles there will be several trade stands and stalls, mobile catering,
refreshments and ice cream. The clubhouse will also be open serving drinks and food. We will be
entertained throughout the day by rock and roll and steel drum bands and a dog agility team.

Head for Corbridge, off the A69 - 17 miles west of Newcastle, 3 miles east of Hexham.
From roundabout at south side of bridge over River Tyne take turn off signposted
Prudhoe(A695). After approximately 200 yards take road slipping off to left signposted
Station. Entrance to ground is on left after 100 yards, immediately before railway station.

Wow.
It was very hot.
It was very busy.
It had around 600 cars on display.
Big crowds.
Some nice tottie about.
Lovely bacon or sausage butties for £2.50. Massive cups of tea for £1.
Cheap beer in the bar. I got £30 out of a cash machine on my way there because I only had a fiver and some change in my poket. Had two butties, one tea, a go at the archery, one pint of John Smiths (extra cold), one can of fanta, and a 99 ice cream.
Still had the £30 in my pocket when I got home.
I didn't have anyones eye out with the archery.
Not a single Mopar. Except a very impressive 1938 Chrysler.
There would have been even more cars at the show if the silly owners had turned up before the strict "no entrants after 11am" rule came into force. Which meant there were a lot of good cars out in the public car park.
I twice had to sit in the car with the AC on to cool off because the shade was just not cool enough.
The show made it on the local BBC TV news last night.

The Granada with the 351 V8?
Looked a mess to me with those wheels and a few other home made alterations that look really bad.
But in the hands of someone with taste and goods hands I think it could be a bloody good car that one. Just needs taking apart and doing properly.
