neutral safety ?

I've been chasing a leak on my trans and it turns out the neutral safety switch was damaged. Any way i fitted a spare i had and put some ptfe on the threads along with the little tin washer but it's still leaking.
Should i just rely on the washer, or buy a new washer, maybe the tin washer is not seating proper because of the ptfe .

Just load the threads with a decent sealer like Hylamar Mick
Standard PTFE tape isn't actually much good for oil or petrol unless its in a form specially made for it. We don't use it on heating oil, kerosene, diesel etc for that same reason :thumbright:

I'll try the washer on it's own first.

washeron its own is correct, it may be the switch itself leaking,

The old one is broken, the one i've replaced it with looks like brand new.

Mick, Ive used those washers with the rubber insert washer in it on the rear mounting bolt on my steering pump. Seals really well. Dont know what they are called. The little rubber insert is very dense and can be nipped up really well without damaging it. Might be worth a go?
