very nice VH7s29-0787 december 71

base model RT sold as fleet sales

Base-Model VH7S29-00787 D343B00891 SA X1 A95 G60 R73 F000 (Fleet)

am guessing F000 is probably adelaide or South australia

SA is mercuty sliver so its the worng colour..nice but wrong

Model-bodytype-production line number-engine number-paint code-options-dealer code

same as mine bar a few options

Base-Model VH7S29-00439 D343B01562 YC X1 A66 A95 G60 H51 Z98 F026 (Fleet) F026 is sydney yard

fleet means it was sold to a company or was built for advertising or general sales room content

or most likley

the person who ordered it changed their mind and it started life as general stock in the stock yard for that state or area waiting for somone to order something similar so a dealer could palm off what was already built.

still only 1 of 1300 made

and been souped up to E49 specification....it should have something in the 300-350 BHP 320 ftlb range not bad in a 1200KG car

pretty rare which means with general attrition probably one of about 500 in existence

still an RT

Aussie RTs came in 3 flavours

all the show and medium go 218 BHP 2bbl carb base model like mine

3rd one down the list of 265 engine power

engine option e37 or E48 which was the base model with webers and headers same cam as mine

engine option E38 (3 speed manual) and engine option E 49 (4 speed manual) on which you could option the track pack and 35 gallon fuel tank

hand selected block

fat main caps
big balancer
low lift but long long duration cam reved to 7k
peined rods and crank
hardend crank
2 plate clutch
forged steel timing set
adjustable spring hangers
v8 torison bars (i.e the US formula S and UK barracuda suspension package)
no brake sheilds
no rear brake auto adjust
3.5:1 rear end with cone sure grip
ally slot mags (option W35 kelsey hayes or ROH alloy)

they made about 400 e38s and about 150 e49s

but you could if you beat up the dealer get the engines in other models

you could also get a steel crank 340 v8 in the E55 charger coupled to a 904 they are rare as hens teeth. generally regarded as the prototype v8 bathurst machine for 1973 for kicking ford and GM Holdens ass
