Anyone got any old Master Cylinder rebuild kit parts?

Help please!

I have just changed the Dart's front brakes to Disc from Drum.

I took a punt that the Master Cylinder would work with them, knowing the risks.

The result is that pedal pressure is great BUT, yes, the residual pressure valve in the M/C means that the discs are binding.... so....

I need to remove the flare pipe seat in the front brake port of the M/C to take out the pressure valve, but I will destroy the the seat in the process.

I am trying to avoid buying a new M/C, so please does anyone have any parts left over from a M/C re-build kit that contains the brass seat?

Worth an ask!

Many thanks in anticipation.

Pete, I'm sure that in the past I have done this & re-used the seat, just screwed a self tapper in & pulled it out, it may create a small burr IIRC but it took very little force to get it out & with a light dressing it went back in. I used kunifer brake pipe which may help as it will conform to small irregularities.

Pete as Rob said that all I have done in the past. They used to supply the self tapping screws in the rebuild kit

Thanks Guys, your posts gave me the confidence to have a go and extract the existing seat and remove the valve behind it.

Managed to get the seat out without too much damage and it was cleaned up in a lathe and re-inserted; and the brakes bled fine with no leaks.

Plenty of pedal pressure and leak free with no binding on the discs - Result!

In fact (for a change) not only a result but a cheap one!! :read2:
