Bit of advice please.
I need to replace my m/c on the Coronet , but also the booster as it is not the correct one and m/c was drilled to fit.
The correct set up for car is a Midland and Ross.
Would it be best to buy both new. Or would a second hand booster be ok ?
Cheers

If you are going to tweak the motor - cam - then maybe you might be better off ditching the Booster and getting a nex M/C or re-build kit.....

Think it's a typo, as in new master cylinder

Ah. I thought it was some sort of upgrade hence not needing a booster. !
So is loosing the booster a good idea on a drum car ?

Normally it's no problem. My manual drums had plenty of bite with little force on the pedal. But... From high speed your life will pass before your eyes as the brakes fade away... I think this is a drum vs disc issue though, rather than manual vs power.

Agreed, Prothed; but that is also and mostly a Money debate....
Sorry for the typo - has holding my 4 month old grandson at the time...
I think it is fair to say I probably have the lowest typo to post ratio compared to many members

Didn't know you were a grandad Pete.
So are you Father Christmas this year then ?
Are the M/C rebuild kits any good ?

Re-build kits are only as good as the quality of the Bore of your old M/C.
The kits are OK, providing you get the correct diameter one
Not always easy as you do not know what some Septic has nailed on in the past.....

Thanks Pete.
I'll price up a new M/C and booster and take it from there

Mossy, the subtext is this: if you go for a rumpy hi po cam you may have insufficient vacuum for power brakes you. Choose the cam and associated upgrades and then you can decide on brake set up.
You mentioned elsewhere that you had upgrade plans, might be useful to post up ideas and see if it all matches up.

Already has a cam Miles.
No major work this year. Just gearing and ignition really
