Just sorting out all of the little niggles with the dart at the moment.

Out of the gearbox I have noticed I can jiggle the propshaft a little bit. More than one would expect to be able to at the gearbox end.

When driving you can feel a slight vibration through the seat and I think it might be this.

The prop is male and seems to go in to the gearbox. Is there a bearing or similar in there? Something that might be common to wear out of break?

Thanks :)

Jon

There's a bush in the end of the tailshaft that the prop yoke rides on. There will be a certain amount of play in it.

If you need it replaced it can be done without taking the gearbox out as you can remove the tail shaft replace the bush and seal and put the tail shaft back on. Job done.

Does the tailshaft seal leak Jon?
If there's enough play in the bush for the shaft to move around in the seal, fluid will leak out. If not I'd say the bush is fine.

Again, thanks guys.

No leaking just a bit of up and down play that I thought was a bit much to see. Maybe its normal!

Thank you

Jon
