Well i made it ,,55 was the retirement age i put on my pension forms when i started it 30 odd years,,,get a nice fat check any day for a quarter of it the rest they will drip feed into my bank account as i get older......Sadly not enough to kick work completely but i still enjoy it and it keeps me fit ,,,All me own teeth ,hairs long gone but apart from a bit of a dodgey elbow i am good to go....

Happy birthday Pete and well done!
I paid into my pension since I was 18 and the company went pop with no come back and no compensation, otherwise I would have been doing exactly the same as you!
Jammy sod.

I'm jealous Pete.
I'm 55 this year and would love to retire but need to put another 5 years into my pension at least and still have 6 years left on the mortgage.
But on the flip side I still have most of my hair.
