After some advice..... We run a 68 dart big block 383, trans brake, 727, not sure on rear gears... Slicks ect. We've run a pb of 12.2 @ 120 ish, are we good to run in the super stock class or stick to the rwyb?? I notice all the other entrants have much bigger cubic motors and don't want to look silly lol

Not sure on the rules.
But. I was planning to have a play in my 68 318 Coronet 4 door !!!
Unfortunately I cannot do this year.
As for looking silly. I think I would have taken that trophy !

Its only dial in bracket racing in SS so you might as well have a go.......however you say you ran 12.2 at 120?........do you not mean 11.2?.....as at 120mph thats what you should be running with slicks if your car hooks ok.

Its a dial in class with sportsman tree,,,,,Some big engined cars have entered this year ,i think the argument about who does have the fastest stock sprung car is going to get settled whilst the rest of the field will be trying to cut the tree down... Enter and enjoy it ,don,t think about it too much or you will think yourself out of it ...Be carefull of the RWYB side of the event they might be waiting around for a run for some time were is we are allocated a certain amount of runs no matter what....I will sort out the first round of qualifiying races ...Lets see Nick ,Daveb,Tig,Andyrob and Mike Lacey ,,,,also the old Chandler boys have been on a diet (about time fat bstrds)maybe poke a 9s....Kiwi is coming back with a monster moter rumour has it ..But while all these guys slop testosterone all over the pits Harrison Brown and Simon Parker will be running like Swiss watches ....Lez your better get there ,its gonna get emotional

Why not do both? The fact is no matter how fast or slow your car is you'll be up against guys that can run more consistantly and cut a faster light so you'll be cannon fodder anyway. Go into it with the attitude that you need the seat time to become consistant and you are there to learn, everyone out there has had to do the same, it's the only way to become proficiant.

Not sure Pete but I think Tig is the fastest with springs??, whether he runs SS or not.....reckon he's upped things again for this year...should be 9.4's or better on motor.

Mike Lacey is the fastest man on stock suspension or Caltracs should i say ,,,at least i think he is .....9.Bananarama! ...555cuin camaro....But Simon Parker or Harrison Brown will be the men to beat overall ,both running small blocks and dialing in about 10.6ish ......but then our very own Rob Tyrell is no mug ....ahhh i don,t know ......

Pete for the very last time ,its meant to be a bit of fun ......and Pete read the Stock and Superstock NHRA rules ...You will find they cater for every combo .......Did you know they have a GT class within superstock ???? Its about the index your combo falls in .....Now because we do not have that many cars we do not have that luxury ..So we all run together . ,,,,and again i say to you ,as i do every year you bring this up enter one of your cars with the sensible rear suspension and have a go ...... You never know you might just enjoy yourself ,,,,

I think it is a great event, I loved watching it last year and will most definitely attend at the Pod this year; though probably as a spectator.....

I will see you there then Pete........UK SS is just a bracket race class for cars with stock suspension set ups, N/A and any engine/trans set up you want, anything goes.....simple. All these guys spending a fortune on monster motors are really wasting their money in SS, they should run S/G or similar. The fact the Williams Bros. are running proper to the rules?.....SS cars is irrelevant to hte class itself here.
All you need is a Black Dart lets say that has a warmed over SB, get it to hook well, dial in your 11.5 time and run to it, and you got a potent SS car

Looking for rear tyres as I type this, Les!!!!!
Not sure whether to go for weedy slicks or Quick times that can double up as road tyres.
The Dart would be useless as it is full auto on a tree.
Bee is far too heavy and slow, and I am not prepared to risk nerfing it into a barrier....
