How does one drag race?

:D

I've never been on a drag strip before but I would like to take the dart for a blast maybe on Sunday this weekend at Shakey.

I know I need my license, a lid and a non leaky clean car.

How does it all work, do you need to get your car looked over before you can run on the strip, are there any unwritten rules. :read2:

How do you leave the line, in D, left foot on the brake and right on the gas?

You need a catch can for the rad, belts, seats, battery fixed down will all be checked.
I think your car will be fine. If you go down i will go through it with you and see you're ok.

Watch as many races before hand and if you can, watch the light sequence's and spot when the other drivers launch.

I find the hardest bit is seeing where the start line is from inside the car. Thank god for the pre-stage lights.

Cheers again.

Does anyone get extra insurance cover for this kind of event?

I've had a quote of £130 for the day which seems steep.

Do you need 2 throttle return springs? I'm not sure but its another thing you might want to check before you go.

The "avoid that" at the bleaches still makes me laugh. 😂
