Temporary ignition circuit for 70 Superbee

Having removed all wiring from the passenger compartment including the bulkhead disconnect I now need a temporary circuit so i can drive the car a few yards to get it into a new workshop.
Have taken a live lead to the starter solenoid terminal which was fed by the link from the start/back up light switch and then earthed the wire that did go to the starter key onto the engine block. This seems to work, the motor turns. Have I got this right? Is the starter key making the negative return in normal operation or have I wired it the wrong way round?
Then used a switch to take a live feed from the fusible link to the Ign1 (disconnect position N dark blue wire) and Ign 2 (disconnect Q Brown wire) have joined these as a single connection.
Can't see that I need to do anything else, there is power to the 2 ignition wires but no sign of a spark.
What have I done wrong? HELP!!
