Can anyone tell me if there is an agent over here deals with Dana axles? I think I got on their website in the States but finished up looking at truck axles and parts. I'm totally pants on a computer so any advice on where to look, website addresses etc would be much appreciated. Thanks, Don

For over here I would try Geof Hauser.

Don,
Ruffle some feathers & get a 9" Ford. Nice & strong, even better with added bracing, lighter than a Dana, more options available, better priced ...

Dr Diff say's if you compare apples with apples, ie a 9" with a quality iron centre section and heavy duty braced case, so you have Dana strength, price and weight work out pretty much the same, he builds both.

Thanks chaps, so is general consensus of opinion to go with a 9" then? Does this mean looking for a second hand unit and having it modified, or starting from scratch and having a new one built? Excuse my ignorance but I've never really had any experience with axles. I had conversations with Pete about this at Sywell recently as he doesn't think my 8 3/4 is going to be up to the job with the extra power I'm hoping to have for next year.

9" or Dana Don, either will do the trick. Whichever you go for, start from scratch with new parts. Either ship one in complete or have Hausers build you one. Dr Diff has a graet reputation but is not ideally located when it comes to shipping.

I had my 83/4 spoiled and braced and shafts uprated plus the caps with Geoff, I think he said around mid tens with a heavy car is where you are at with the 83/4.
I wished I had spent the money on a 9'' thinking on, but what I have will have to do for now.

Thanks again for all the help chaps. I've sent emails to all web sites kindly given here so we'll see what comes back, but as Blue rightly says, its the shipping that's going to an issue cost wise. I've spoken with Ian at Jeff's and he's coming back with what I feel is a great quote, and he'll have my old axle up there for dimension comparisons etc etc. Thinking now I might go with a spool in a 9" which gives me the option of changing just the diff to a true trac for circuit or road use giving me the best of both worlds. Once again, all opinions, help and advice more than welcome please

Got Hauser to bring this in for me.

Looks a lot nicer under the car than a 9 inch

That's certainly worth a thought thanks Nick. I had a look on their site and I couldn't seem to find out if they custom make these axles, ideally I want one that's around 2" wider to negate the need for spacers

They will make them to any dimension you want.......
