The fan came from a Jeep, not sure what year but fits the viscus clutch set up.
It doesn't work as I thought.
Pushes air out of the engine area into the rad, so the car boiled over on trial run.
I have tried to turn the fan but still the same.

i would guess the fan blades are at the wrong angle for our cars

It's the wrong fan.
The one pictured is for a motor that turns anti-clockwise as you look at the front of the motor.
Your motor turns clockwise so you need one with blades that curve the opposite way. Turning the fan around won't help as you've already sussed

That's a reverse rotation fan I warned you about, I came unstuck in the same way which is why I ended up altering a plastic flex fan to fit the viscous hub.

I assumed that was the case, but when it said from a Jeep I thought it may be the same.
But there it goes you learn with your experience.
I am still looking for one so if anyone has one please let me know.

Ali, it must be from a latish Jeep with a serpentine belt, because one belt runs everything it snakes it's way around & something's run the opposite way.

Another question on the viscous set up.
When I ran the above I noted that the fan ran all the time, even when cold engine.
I assume the clutch only engaged when hot, so the fan runs.
OR
Am I wrong.

The clutch should have a heat sensor and the fan will vary in speed according to what demand it needs to cool the rad. I have a new set up with the correct fan plus an ali rad and it is excellent. Almost runs to cool now 15-160 in this colder weather.

The fan will always turn but it is only freewheeling, it will lock up and turn at full engine speed when engaged.

As Blue says. Quick way to test is to apply throttle. The fan should maintain almost idle speed whilst the rest of the rotating assembly follows the engine rpm (obviously only when under required temp).....
