My 65 Plymouth Fury (my first mopar!) :)

My first mopar, a 1965 Plymouth Fury II.
Ive got big plans for her but iam totally new to this so any help is much appreciated. Many thanks to Don for sorting out the useless idiots at the DVLA
the first thing i want to do is upgrade the front drum brakes to disks.
ive found a good conversion kit from yearone:
https://www.yearone.com/Product/1966-74 ... /6374cbk-s
The problem ive got is im not 100% sure what body type a 65 Fury is. ive researched this online and 65 was the year C bodies started to come into effect, but ive also read that a 65 Fury is a B body. Im hoping its a B body as parts for B bodies seem to be alot easier to get a hold of. If someone could tell me the correct body type and if the conversion kit will fit my car it would be very much appreciated. Thank you

Welcome to the club.
I'm not an expert but I think the Fury of that age is a "C" body - does it have the stacked headlights?
Put some picture of your ride up - check out the Stickys in the guidance section of the Forum for help if required...............

There's some good info here...

It seems they shrank from C-body in 62 then grew again mid-65, so you will need to be careful!

Hi Chris, welcome!
Yes, the 65 Fury is a C body - very similar to the 66, like Steve's here:

I'm sure he'll be along soon, to welcome you the C-body club!

Thanks for all the help everyone. My 65 Fury has got stacked headlights, ive been trying to post some pics but they're to large to upload. So would the conversion kit from year one not fit my car then? Thank you

Welcome to the Club Chris!
You've come to the right place for help and assistance!
When you've sorted the photo issue out it may well be worth putting up a thread in the members cars sections!!!!
Where abouts in the Uk are you?
Always useful to add your location to your profile as it will help with locating near by members who can help out as and when!!
Also make sure you put the Mopar Nats in the diary for late July.
It is the
must not miss event for most of us and I would gestimate that at least 90-95% of the guys that are on here attend.....so useful to put names to faces etc..........as well as get tanked up on Cars, Beer, Sunburn and racing!!
Welcome to the club!!!

Hi Chris. Can I ask why you want to upgrade to discs ? Obviously they are superior to drums , however I would feel drums would be adequate for a C body cruiser ?
I have power assisted drums on my Coronet and I find them fine. Although they will "fade" with more spirited driving !

I want to upgrade to power brakes as an absolute minimum. I feel like the brakes have little or no feel. Sometimes (particularly downhill) the pedal will depress completely and the brakes wont stop the car completely, which is quite worrying sometimes. Plus disks would just be alot safer if i have to brake suddenly. Sadly though im having trouble finding a kit. Im taking it that my car os 100% a C body, correct? Thanks
