how does the rear exterior stainless window trim come off-is it stuck on or are there clips?
also how does the wide stainless mouldings on top of the doors and rear quarters (by the windows) remove?

The ones round the rear window are held with clips and a a pain to get off, you need a very thin but strong pointy tool, slide it between the glass and trim and run it up until you feel the clip then use it to pull the clip towards the centre of the glass and it will release the trim, once you have done one it gets easier.

From memory the belt mouldigs are held by spring clips and should pop off with a bit of a tug, you may need to get something between them and the body to get them to move.

good luck Sean! On the plus side you will see all the mounting points when you take the trim off.

On mine, only two holes in the top section are visible on my rear window channels. both sides and the bottom section are completley filled in with some adhesive/mastic (pic).

I have got clips and screws (pic) - Alex (or anyone else) please do you have any tips on how to get the trim mounted properly??

That pic looks like something the Hubble would have taken ! need clearer to discuss further, I will check the belt moulding set up tomorrow before y'all go prizing things off that are held by bolts

the rear screen is also "glued" in with some really bad black sealant which can also stick the trim down. Before you go hunting for them clips, have a look at.......

Alex, OK so Alfred Hitchcock made a great film Rear Window. So far Ive just come up with Hitches and cock ups and taken enough stills to make a Wallace and Gromit flick BUT Ive reduced the size and increased the compression ratio as much as my poor PC can do, so.....

excellent Paul, thanks a lot. With the spacing from the diagram and these Ive got a far better idea of what it should look like - now I just gotta figure the best way to get it like that given the amount of crap in my channels.
