Back in 1976 when I had my first Duster a quick solution for the sagging leaf springs was a pair of Monroe air shocks which worked great with me . but I just read an article which was a bit negative on the handling qualities . Any thoughts as I,m thinking of doing the same on my newly purchased Duster .

I would go for a new set of springs or have yours re arched and fit a fresh pair of shocks rather than use air shocks IMHO. ;) :thumbright:

Sort your springs, air shocks will take out the rear crossmember that the shocks bolt to.

link on how to modify leaf springs. borrowed the link from Retrorides but a simple jig and bottle jack looks like a great idea for DIY spring modification.

Thanks for the comments lads . I know Dusters are not everyone,s taste . Just looking at the picture that rear 14" wheel looks so little and skinny . I know it has discs on front and drums on back . I,ll have to take a look and see 4 or 5 stud ? Can anyone recommend the best place for wheels , I,m thinking cragar,s

Double check the bolt pattern - 5 x 4" (7/16" stud) or 5 x 4.5" (1/2" Stud).

As a later car you may be in luck as 4" PCD wheels are in limited supply.......

Cool car I had a couple of dusters and some darts too, great cars to tinker with,

and the air shock as mentioned ,you wont like the ride/handling, I had them for a road trip and promptly removed them when I got home.
