has any one got a torsion bar removal tool that I may borrow at all?. It's time to do my lower control bar bushes now

I did mine without a tool. Take the lower arm off together with the torsion bar and just knock the arm off.

I've just got my drivers side one to move but not come back far enough,going to try a carver clamp on the bar and a clout with a mallet.

You can do it with something homemade pretty easy. Trick is not to damage the bars if they are going back in.

I made a long clamp ( imagine a long vice jaw). One it is clamped on and tight, jack the car up so there is no load on the bar and give the clamp a clout. Bar should move backward pretty easy.
I have even seen it done with a couple of bits of wood clamped really hard along the bar ( i.e. Spreading the load) and then clout the clamp.

Basically, clamp it with something that wont damage it and hit the something with a mallet. hey presto ! Just DONT hit/grip the bars directly. Unless they aint going back in, in which case go nuts...

My trick worked Carver clamp and some wood,2 clouts and bar went back enough to do the job. Someone had belted the bar in and damaged the end of the hex hole right on the end past the circlip groove. Sorted.
