Hi Fellas
I'm having a bit of a problem and not sure the answer I'm hoping for some Ideas.

MY 66 T&C has drum brakes with a servo, now they are ok ish but dont fill me with confidence they are not brill but they seem to pull the wagon up ok. but of recent I have noticed that when I brake the engine speed drops.I would expect it to drop a bit due to the servo.
The thing is if I hold the brakes on the engine speed drops and then stalls.

So i'm starting to wonder if I might have a leak on the servo it would explaine why it's stalling ( Air getting in weekening the fuel mix) and it would explain the non fab brakes, But how do I go about checking a servo for leaks without taking it apart or is taking it apart the only way to check?

Any one got a any idea's

CAREFULLY disconnect the pipe to the Servo and Plug it both directions and then VERY CAREFULLY take it for a drive and see if the situation prevails (other than heavier and probably less efficient / more effort Brakes....

OK, bear in mind that the pipe itself may be split and letting in air.

Ok have just popped out for a spin with both ends of the pipe blocked off .

And it don't stall any more

And the brakes feel better , ok I have to push a bit harder but not a lot harder than before.

So I think I have a leak some were

...or the diaphragm in the Servo has split or the valve at the back (bulkhead side) has failed.

Personally I hate servo brakes........

Can I just blank it off
