Tubular K-member

What do people think of the tubular k-member and coilover kit that magnum force do in the states. Looks good to me, easier to set up and a lot quicker. Want my car to handle on the twisty's so should be ok for that or is it better sticking with torsion bar.

The Alterkation set up is better IMO, see big block dart.com for more details, oh and I think Blue has got it on his Dart.

Blue has the alterkation setup and its very good tweety has also had a lot of dealings with it , looks better designed and manufactured than the magnum force set up. i will be using it on the duster as soon as i have some spare cash :oops: I agree with Alex , check out bigblockdart.com, its a weath of information and technical help.

Tubular k-frames are a big no no for safety. The Alterkation set-up is for drag racing. Both types have more unsprung weight than the stock set-up even though they do reduce the sprung weight.

For the twisty roads you can't beat the stock system. Upgrade the torsion and sway bars, fit poly bushings. MAYBE fit tubular UCAs if you do SERIOUS circuit racing. Which I doubt you do so spend the money elsewhere.

Reduce the unsprung weight even more with light weight brake calipers.

Weld in some chassis connectors.

This is an expensive hobby as it is without spending money on stuff you don't need.

I will tell you what the Alterkation set-up is good for. If you fit a big block it gives you great header clearence which is even worse on RHD mopars.

But unless you are really going down that road (and a big block will make the handling even harder to get) then forget about it.

Looking at your other posts you must have a budget of ?30,000 in mind for this project?

Just noticed this post, we looked at alterkation and magnum force for the belv, we decided on the magnum force item and it was great, it fit the car so well with no messing around, but both me and my dad drove the car and thought it wasn't that much better than the original, the steering was heavier if anything, but the car handeled slightly better, it did stiffen the car up and instead of the car launching twisted it launched a lot squarer off the line
