front sway /anti roll bar

anybody taken a sway bar off to improve launches? does it work and would it be safe to leave off(I don`t do a lot of high speed manouvering) or would it be unsafe/illegal etc??
boils down to what you want to do, corners or straights, you can't do both and excel in either, it's down to compromise, if you remove the bar cornering will suffer but you get rid of some weight, weight reduction is the cheapest way of increasing times between 2 points, just don't expect to get around the corner at the end if the 2 points aren't on the strip
