Recommissioning my '68 Charger

Hello everyone, my name's Lewis and I've recently joined the Mopar Muscle Association UK.

Among other things, I used to own a '68 Firebird. I made the mistake, however, of selling it about two years ago.

Since then I'd chopped and changed from time to time, but that lust for another muscle car simply didn't fade away.

To cut a long story short, I ended up buying the '68 Charger that Steve here was selling.

To say I'm happy with it would be a huge understatement, haha. It moves under its own power but it's effectively been parked for ten years, so it needs a little reviving - brakes, exhaust manifold gasket, a few patches of welding - but it's all there.

If you're interested, I'm formally writing about my experiences with the car as I go along, and you can find the first update here: http://goo.gl/ycmeyh

I'll be swinging by and updating this as I go along, and hopefully I'll get to meet some of you in person soon - I aim to have it on the road for the Mopar EuroNationals!

Cheers!

Hello Pete, thanks for the welcome! I live in London but the car's based a little further north at the moment, at my parent's - fortunately they've a garage I can use. Great to be able to work on a car without getting wet, for a change!

Excellent - we have a few members in that area who could probably assist if required, some may even be sane!!!!

Good luck with the build - that is part of the enjoyment of an old car!!

Cool write up. But then again, cool car... You wait. You wont have driven anything that commands public respect like the charger - it can be alarming.

Welcome from an utterly-unbiased 68 owner 8-)
