Hi there!
A lot depends on where in the 'States it is.
East coast, West coast, Florida?
Most Shippers specialise to a degree.
Also trucking a car is quite expensive these days if you have to move it a fair amount.

I had a.........cough.....48 Chevy shipped by Kingstown Shipping, bought from Washington 3000 km from Florida. They charged $999 for transport from Washington to Florida and £1400 odd for Shipping in a container to Felixstowe. Excellent service, container tracking etc. I will definitely use them again.

Ron Fenton at STS imports is very helpfulll, Shipmycar will quote you instantly on line (though my experience with them to date hasnt been fantastic), Hill Shipping come highly recommended as well.
I would container it as RORO will inevitably end in damage etc.
Not a difficult process but make sure your shell has a vin plate and supporting docs inc title or you may have trouble getting it released for export. Lots of experienced guys on here to help once you have decided on a shipper

You cant ro ro a none runner because they drive them on and off the ship.
Also to nobby nails, i cant understand why they would transport a car from washington to florida when there are ports they use much closer ? Is it because you stipulated felixtowe as the port of entry and are we talking Washington state or DC ?

Sorry Mick...I thought you could put a shell on as RORO as long as it is rolling and has a parking brake. They treat it as a non runner and get the old forklift out...my mistake

I used Skippys imports.
http://www.skippysclassicimports.co.uk/
I used them as he was a member of OldSkoolFord, a forum I was also a member on and well known there.
I was then refereed to another person in the states who dealt with me from the start to end.
...That cup of coffee cost me £500. But for me, knowing someone I trusted was worth the cost. First and only time but now I kind of know what is involved. Good service though, very happy customer.
Mick on here imports cars also, I am sure he would help you.

I've Emailed Ron Fenton@STS,Hill Shipping and Kingstown shipping to see what they come back with.I'm also checking the docs-did't think I would need them as only for spares?
The closest port is Los Angeles
