This is what I've been up to for the last couple of months

As few of you know Jem and I have been looking for another workshop for quite some time now. The old place was very large but impossible to heat, dirty, increasingly wet and had become far too expensive for what was basically a Bananarama!.
I really didn't hold out much hope, it's very hard to find anything big enough that's affordable for just a hobby around here. We tried everything we could think of including advertising. And then by chance Jem spotted a unit for rent 5 mins away from my house in a good secure location. It had no access to it for a car, had 2 pillars in the middle and it was a bit ramshackle, but it had a good solid concrete floor, it was dry, and the price was right.
The owner turned out to be a really nice guy who was very keen to have us there, he would put in a set of double doors for access and pretty much gave us carte blanche to do what we liked with the rest of it.
So, first job was put in an RSJ to get rid of the pillars that were in the way, I had to mount that on steel posts as it's a wooden building. After that it was loads of repairs, sort out the electrics and a million and one other jobs. And finally paint the bugger, 'cos after the last place I wanted this CLEAN.
So, finally we moved in today and I can't tell you how happy I am about it, blimey even Hilary loves it!
