I have a Yuasa on my Polara and have had no probs at all. I have mates who use Halfrauds batteries, again with no issues. Worth measuring your battery tray and making sure you get one with the terminals on the correct side when sitting in the tray. Also, get the highest cold cranking amps spec that you can.....bang on a mini starter and you will be good to go :thumbright: :thumbright:

I got mine from mega battery. I already bought one for our camper from them and was happy. Price is ok, delivered ok. I just measured the tray and got I think a 70Ah.

Edit, I got a Varta, been good for 10 months ish.they do those fancy Optima ones too.

Anything with high cold cranking amps and not supplied by a budget brand.

I have a yuasa at the moment, Bosch do premium batteries that I have also found good on some other cars I have.

When I was trying to find the largest battery to fit in the standard battery tray I ended up with a size 096 (just google '096 battery')
but I think a size 335 will also just fit.

096 - 72Ah. 680 CCA. 278 x 175 x 190mm.
335 - 95Ah. 830 CCA. 306 x 175 x 225mm.

These types have the terminals on the side next to the wing, but the original fitments put the terminals on the side next to the engine. No big deal.

Check the CCA for the specific brand you are looking at. Some budget brands do have lower specs.
