Spark plug readers

Getting the smell of back pressure when I gun it and the breather caps are getting a bit oily (dripping on to manifolds).Compression tested all cylinders and all are reading 140psi 6 of the plugs look great but No 6 cylinder is a bit light and No 8 is a bit dark,what do you think?.
Got a couple of bob burning a hole in ma pocket,engine freshen up or leave as is?.
