Very sad indeed.

Shakey has posted its schedule for 2016, so we will have to see what matures.

A load of Bananarama! from dick sucking morons who haven't got a Bananarama! clue!

With the amount of land in the area, why the hell do they think that this site, with a fantastic history and a multitude of clubs and events to suit a large demographic is the best solution.

Whomever the dum Bananarama! moron is who signed off on this Bananarama! farce, they need a Pentastar shoved up their arse!

Bananarama!........moronic Bananarama!, Bananarama! Bananarama!......hope they choke on house bricks!

Maybe me being silly thinking that, as the locals didn't want it and neither did the paying public that the council would have seen it as a last resort.

I just can't see the justification for it.......so that leaves the POD and static shows.........

.... and York Raceway, and the occasional North Weald event.

I thought we had a few more years as the roads / infrastructure were't up to coping with that amount of houses. We've all heard the latest from the government - hundreds of thousands more houses - why? I was going to start a rant but we all know why.

I feel sorry for the local villages around there, it's a lovely area - going to be ruined.

Let's hope we get next season at least.

Very sad

Selfish mode on............;)

Yes, but I want to drive the Dart to events.

Shakey is 35 from me and the Pod 90..........on the limit at the mo.

York is 150 and NW is 156...........daily only options really.

Most of the PODs weekends are spoken for through the year I believe..........so no more HRDs or Gary's picnic in its current form?

Sadly I think this was inevitable ....I have been trying to get some space in events for the SS class and it's hard to get in ......Shakey I think would let us in a few more events but it's not a long term fix for the class .I think I could get us in some bigger pod events but that would mean tagging the cars and that means more expense .Housebuilding is the driving force of any growing economy and sadly this time our past time will suffer ....it will be interested to see what happens when the Nostalgias and HRDs look for a new home ,these are profitable events and I am sure the Pod would love them ......

Quite right Pete. Sadly probably nowhere near as profitable as VW or Fast Ford events and there are only so many weekends a year.

It's a blow for us guys out west. I can make Shakey in under 4 hours, but the Pod is a six hours shift and a bunch more cash.
Luckily for us there's a few very amateur sprint events within reach, but nothing to match a proper track and event

I know that this has been the source of rumour for a while but the locals have been fighting it and hoping for a continuance. Such is democracy in this country!!

Returned to Shakey in the last couple of years, it may have been Long Marston Raceway last time I went, and I was pleased to find the laid back friendly place that it was. Competitors all ready for a friendly chat to those who are genuinely interested.

We can pray for a summer such as that 40 years ago and I will attend every meeting that I can.

Today's weather here is most appropriate, grey and dismal!
