I need to do a repair on one of my rear light lenses. I have a couple of donor lenses to get the sections I need. What type of glue is the best for the job? Super glue is not waterproof by the way. These lenses are year specific 1970 only with prob less than 2500 cars made so they're not easy to find , even used

go to a good model shop and get a good quality liquid adhesive ( comes in a glass bottol with a brush) use it spareingly but make sure the parts are 100% clean , it melts the parent material so leaves no messy glue behind. ive used this on numerous plastic lenses and if time and care is taken a virtualy invisible repair is possible. it makes a strong , waterproof repair and is not affected by heat or sunlight. hope this helps.

Trev - would that be what I know as plastic cement perhaps?

jabes , its NOT the usual stuff used bu most peole for models , it is a liquid that smells good ( read bad) but works verry well.

Any idea of the brand of poly cement ? I've tried the Revell one which is acetone based without success also tried the stuff for joining plastic waste pipes , that don't work either Both smell nice though
