Hi guys, posted a little bit on here, but id thought i would say hi.
Just bought a 71 plymouth gold duster. Its a 318v8 and is my first mopar. Originally from California, it was imported last may and the previous owner had done a few odd jobs here and there on it.

Interior is pretty bad and im going to restore it soon with a new bench and carpet at the very minimum. It was originally a gold colour with a vinyl roof, but im told the owner in the US ripped the roof off, (badly) painted it and the hood black. It was resprayed in a yellow primer mix, was given a new set of wheels and tires as well as a pair of flowmaster 40s.

I Plan to respray black with the gold stripe and keep the "Gold Duster" trim to the car, as well as getting new interior parts.

I Do believe it was a factory gold duster. At leas that is what the seller told me. It has the cream interior so i think he is right.

Your original colour is the same original colour as my OLD Duster I have several years ago, apparently now a rare colour for a 71

If it has the fender tag in it should be on there.........Its not easy to find as some package numbers changed through the years due to availability.

I believe in 72 (a year later than yours) it was: A64

Throughout the lifecycle of the Duster they had a few packages:
340, Gold, Silver, Twister, Feather and Space........be good to know if any of these made it over here!!! :thumbright:

Great car Chris....looks mean on the after respray pic....really nice stance etc.

You can get everything you need for the interior quite easily in the States and the costs aren't too bad if you ship through Ron Fenton at STS.

Cant wait to see the cars progress so please keep us posted. Plenty of experienced members who really know these cars so you are in safe hands if you need any help

Cheers Steve :thumbright:
