Hi guys, recently bought a new air cleaner, the Mopar Performance Finned Air cleaner kit, to match my valve covers. Currently i have the stock carb and air cleaner on it. I Have two tubes connected to the stock air cleaner, ill attach a picture, what do i do with these two tubes with the new air cleaner?

Cheers
Chris

The small tube at the front you don't need, just block it off at it's source. Most aftermarket filters have a provision for the large hose on the baseplate.

Just had a proper look, not hole or anything for the large hose on the baseplate, and i guess it doesnt fit stock carbs, because the baseplate is rather large and the carb isnt. Guess a new carb is on the list for some point in the future

No the filter will be for a 4 barrel carb and the stock carb is a 2 barrel no doubt. Possibly there is an adaptor available? If it is a 2 barrel carb you would need to change to a 4 barrel intake manifold as well to fit a 4 barrel carb. Talking of carbs, go for a Holley rather than an Edelbrock 'cos they are hard to get parts for and a bit pants generally to be honest.

Cheers blue, there seem to be a few adapters about, will probably give one a try at some point. Dont suppose you know the best place for carbs and manifolds in the UK?

Real Steel is probably your best bet, although I nearly always buy used.

how big is your new filter

will the bottom pie tin from your old filter take the filter element from the new filter?

if so just use the element and the top plate.

put a pipe fitting into the bottom plate if need be and put the fat tube to that.

thin one was for warm up flap in your snorkle.

you have no snorkel on your new filter so it becomes irrelevant

cut 2 inches off the tube

screw a screw into one end and stick the stub onto where the pipe used to go to
