Hi guys, I need a new throttle cable for the charger, the engine has a edlebrock intake and a holley dp carb, will the standard cable be fine or do I need a differant/custom made cable?
My dad keeps telling me he will sort it as he has had cables made up before!
I just want to be sure though!
Thanks again

I have just fitted the Lokar throttle cable and kickdown cable to Paul Hastie 69 Charger and I was most impressed with the quality of the kit very adjustable and looks very good indeed . It maybe a little expensive but worth it

I have been looking at those myself Guy. The carb end of the cable on the chally snapped a little while ago. I put a lump of braze on the end of the cable so it is working but it is just a touch short now.
Couldn't quite see how the Lokar cable would hook up on my six pack.

Also not sure if it would work with the stock kick-down linkage as it looks like they might get in each others way.
Did you use their own make brakets etc?
Would be good if you could show us some photos of the installation.

Hi Dave
I used all the supplied brakets ect with the amount of excess outter cable I would have thought you could set it up fpr the six-pack. I am not sure about using your excisting kickdown linkage though, I was unsure about this kit when Paul asked me to fit it at the same time as fitting his new intake and carb on the 440 but I must say that it won me over and has been added to my wish list.
Will get some pictures next time I see the car.

I had to machine my own brackets for the '72 as it didnt fit, the kickdown set ups changed from year to year,
Also mine didn't look like that at the transmission end
Are there different ones?

The throttle cable is a universal size and you can get different lengths (doesnt that defeat universal?) When i bought them Summit were doing the stainless ones for the same price as the black plastic coated versions.
The only problem I can see is that I now need to braid the rest of my pipe work to match.....

If they do any length I might be able to work it for RHD.

Do it James it looks fantastic and is really good quality. It is really smooth operating unlike the frayed one I had before. Must remember light on the right foot - I haven't let Sarah drive it since it got done as we all know how light her right foot can be!
