Sure this may have been discussed before... Has anyone used a super bright halogen tail/brake bulb before? Want to get the lights as bright as possible, without melting anything obviously. I'm not interested in LEDs... They are the devils work and don't have the lumen output no matter what they claim!

Don't know of brighter conventional stop and tail bulbs, you'd have to be careful anyway because of heat possibly melting stuff. There might be something to gain in stripping the lights, cleaning the reflectors and covering them in a bright foil if they are dull? The reflectors play as big a part in how bright a light is as the bulb does IMO.

spray the inside reflector of your tail lights gloss white.

shiny makes a bright point

gloss white fills the lens with a uniform bright glow

also works very well if you do the old hot rod MOT failure blue dot in the lens

makes the rears purple

I took the light fittings out cleaned them and and have spray the interiors in a 'chrome' silver... Funnily enough I did think that white might be better... But yes Blue I don't want to melt anything... Putting them back in later so will see if they po a little better. Also I've found a 70s third brake light for the rear parcel... Anything to keep twats behind me informed

you can also polish the lenses with toothpaste

slightly abrasive makes them look like new

Or T-Cut (try it out on one edge first to see the effect).

They sell stuff for cleaning plastic headlights that works well.
