Locks... With no key?

Hi all,

I have a dodge a100 67 with an ignition key that works fine to start the van.

Every other lock is different... (Hopefully all the same) and I do not have the key.

What are my options?

I do not mind at all having a separate key for locking up/starting, but need to be able to lock the van up?

Best regards,

Steve

You can get complete lock sets on eBay from places like retromotive.

Doors only, doors and trunk or all plus ignition.

Not purchased them, but they are available. :thumbright:

I took my trunk lock down to a locksmith who disassembled it and made a key for it. Had to go down that part as their were no repros available. If you're not positive all other locks are the same though, this might not be for you.

door locks much easier to swop out than ignition barrel

When I bought my car the door key fit the drivers door but didn't fit the passenger door. I got the key to fit the passenger door by taking the lock apart and re-arranging and filing the levers. A lot easier than I thought it would be because the locks are easily disassembled.

the sliders from some roof rack locks can be used to reconfigure your mopar lock to a specific key.
width and height might need adjustment depending on how unlucky you are. but a tiny file can adjust most aspects.

its a case of mootching about in a suspicious way in Halfords near the lock section

then going and buying a Chinese copy on ebay to dismantle.

get you mopar barrel nearly right and file off any offenders that won't sit totally flat...obviously your aim is to make sure they will stick out and still lock when the key is out
