So my sway bar bushes have rotted away, so got myself some new ones removed the sway bar went to fit them and the new ones don't fit over the loops on the end and have been told I have to grind open the metal holders and weld them up again with the new rubber fitted. This really can't be true.. Any thoughts or suggestions. Thanks.

Yes they will have to be ground off,and you can re weld them but that might damage the bushes, or you might have to go this route

Yep. Split em, fit bushes, weld split, paint. Done.
Thats what i did.

all i can say is ,,,,,FIRM FEEL ,,,stuff that fits,,,wish i had bought their stuff for my rear sway bar ,as ive had no end of problems with the addeco kit i got ,had to weld it up round the axle as it was slipping round the tube ,,its true what they say ,pay the money for the quality parts,,ive got firm feel front bar ,and its great ,good instructions and quality part ,and works
