So, if all goes to plan I fly out of Newqay Saturday first thing to Newcastle, get picked up by one of our good MMA folk and buy a Fox Mustang that I've been discussing behind the scenes for some time.
Then drive to York and stay overnight with my brother, leave early Sunday morning and head for Shakey.
Do Sunday at Shakey sleeping in the car cos I can't get a tent as hand luggage on the plane

Have a few beers with the boys and girls and head back to Cornwall on Monday arvo
Weather looks triffic, what could go wrong

That could save you a ton of fuel money!

Good luck, I am sure it will all work out fine and be a road trip to remember.

Pete, quirky but it's 450 miles back from Newcastle or 450 return from Nqy to Shakey. Just a typical weekend out to watch racing

I thought about a cheap tent, but it's a hatchback, plenty of sleeping space

Cheers guys, looking forward to it. Last time I visited the (relatively) far north was Saltburn on Sea for a surf trip about 25 years ago.

Sounds like the makings of a great weekend Miles, new car, visit relatives, meet friends at shakey and drink beer.
Weather here is kind of ok at the minute, it's stopped raining now and starting to dry up.
