I had a quote from instrument specialities to reface & calibrate my gauges : $1600 to $2600
This seems hefty.
Who's had their gauges done & by whom. + what did it cost?

Ouch!! That is steep

I refaced my own gauges

New gauge faces from Performance Car Graphics …

The decals come with comprehensive instructions and are straight forward to do with excellent results

Didn’t do any recalibration, have read on here about recalibration, checking ohms and the like, but I didn’t deem that necessary, probably the most significant thing here is to make sure you have a steady 5v supply

Have a look at what I did, instrument cluster bit starts at the bottom of page 8 …

We used this lot for our 63's instrument cluster

http://www.autoinstruments.com/

All gauges recalibrated and all surfaces refinished. Cant remember the cost off hand but I dont recall it being as much as you mentioned. They gave us a breakdown of all costs or all the various jobs done, so we could pick & choose what to be done.

Prices here - http://www.autoinstruments.com/mopar.htm

And when they delivered the finished cluster with what we thought was the wrong finish (painted and not plastic-chromed), we sent it back and they chromed it for no extra charge.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them :thumbright:

You could try speedy cables over here for the re-calibration , they put new guts inside my old 60's sun super tach in my car , they made a mega job of it, when the ignition is switched on it even winds itself all the way round the face and back like a modern car. You could get the decals from performance car graphics and get them to fit.

I had my whole dash restored by Performance Car Graphics. All new faces, new movement in the cleck,tic-toc-tach .Some of the auxiliary gauges were not 68 so these were replaced with the correct items. All recalibrated and rechromed. Including refurb to all the switches.
The finished effect is faultless.
It cost about £1800
