CPP power steering kit for Dodge truck

Hi all,
I've just fitted a CPP power steering kit to my 68 Dodge pickup truck.
The kit comes with box, hoses ,rag joint, fittings, etc. You supply your own pump.
I have a 318 engine and fitted a Saginaw pump that I had originally got for my Chevrolet Impala.
The kit is pretty easy to fit...you do need to remove the steering column as it moves over slightly and I had to make a new column floor gasket out of some 3mm neoprene.
The problem is, there is no assist at dead stop.
I know that it isn't just me as quite a few guys on the Dodge sweptline forum are having the same issue. http://www.sweptline.org/forums/viewtop ... 20&t=39670
Apart from this, the steering is vastly improved.
Some are saying it must be down to the pump...which does seem likely.
Have any of you guys got any ideas or experienced similar problems with your car/truck at dead stop???
Any help appreciated.
Best regards
Mick

All the PAS Mopars I have had are one finger turning whilst stationary with the engine running, not heard of that one before.

It does sound like a pump problem. It seems a bit of a half arsed kit if it doesn't come with a matching pump, or at least telling you which one works it's asking for trouble IMO.

Would've thought it would be essential for the pump to be rated at a certain pressure output.... if your using any old pump maybe the pump is underpowered for the system?
