I've just been playing around with my carb as instructed on a website.
basically with a vacuum gauge connected and turning the 2 mixture screws i don't see much of a change in readings. Could this be due to the old performance cam I have installed? If so what are you supposed to do? :read2:

Carb is a 750 vacuum secondary
Cam is a purple mopar part if I remember right.

more likely that the idle mixture screws have little impact because the throttle blades are open too far

how ever Holley tuning is not my forte

infract tuning is not my forte

but I do no you can make your idle mixture screws totally irrelevant by running on the transition circuit at idle.

close throttle 1/8 of s turn at a time to bring down idle speed

raise idle speed back with idle mixture screws and you will see vacuum signal improve.

unless of course you are miles out on the idle jets

in which case that might be why it is set as it is

Put the vac gauge on the Sparc port and confirm the blades are sufficiently shut.

You need to do all fine tuning with the car in gear (scary) otherwise you do all that hard work in N and then drop the car into gear and it all goes wonky-bent....

Ah yeah I shouldve checked that the idle speed hasn't been set on the throttle adjustment shouldn't I?
