Advice please.Just got home from a show & stalled the car on the drive went to re start and nothing.Battery fine when you turn the key to start ameter goes over all electrics/radio ok but nothing. Its as if you had a auto and left it in gear no clicking from the starter or anything.Left it an hour and it started up fine .It was only 15 miles away and has never done it before.Your thoughts please.

Check the starter relay is securely attached to firewall. It earths through its mount and when it gets a little loose it gives an intermittent problem as things heat up and cool down.
Also check similar for ignition box if you have one (bit fussy on 70's)
Does it crank if you bypass the starter relay with a screwdriver between the posts? If so does it start?
