Springs, bushes advise required

Hi,

While my Axle is out, I decided to take out the springs.

I found this mess, I need some replacements ASAP if I have a hope in hell of getting to mopars, I'm not going to nail them back on as they are not correct. Anyone help?

2nd question, I need some bushes for my springs, where is the best place to buy these from please?

3rd question. I'm taking my springs to be 'refurbished' at a Midland leaf springs, I noticed one has more leafs than the other (or at least some are longer). Is this for drag racing, having one leaf spring stronger than the other?
I do not want this, as the car is to evolve in to something that can corner a little better. Am I correct in my above assumption?

Thanks,

Drivers side spring may be different to compensate for driver weight or other side may be stiffer to counter torque twist on acceleration.

You have the wrong car for any kind of handling application, big block A bodies are just too nose heavy, even the factory GTS cars with a big block were known for that.

Hi,
Thanks both.
I know that the car will never be great at handling but I'd like to improve it, at least a bit!

What would you suggest I do with the leaf springs?

Bolt it all back together, enjoy the Nats and then make a plan when you have more time and you are not under pressure.

I do not see anything dangerous there. Other than an antiquated car with an excess of power, but then again they are all like that.

If you want a roundy-roundy car, then get an "A" Body with a SB in it. My 408 Dart was a hoot and went round corners very well too.

Maybe a SB owner will want a trade at the Nats, you never know.

...That would be wayyyy easy.
I've dropped the leaf springs off to be re-made, new bushes on order from the states, new spring pads ordered from the US. Diff is with Hauser, as is the axle casing. Should be done for Thursday.

I have a roundy-roundy car already!
I was a roundy-ish-roundy-ish car.
